Second FOR 5583 Workshop

Schloss Reisensburg, Günzburg

September 20-22, 2026

From September 20 to 22, the DFG Research Unit “Asset Allocation and Asset Pricing under Regulatory Uncertainty” (FOR 5583) met for its second workshop at Schloss Reisensburg. The meeting offered an opportunity to reflect on the progress made across the projects and to explore new questions and connections.

When the whole group came together, the Principal Investigators (PIs) and several young researchers presented progress across all projects. Seeing the different strands of research side by side made opportunities for cross-project collaboration more tangible.

Postdoctoral researcher Ilaria Stefani also introduced sustainability-linked bonds (SLBs) as one possible area where regulatory uncertainty, sustainable finance, asset allocation and asset pricing could intersect.

The workshop continued with four breakout sessions led by the PIs. Focusing on regulatory uncertainty, ESG, textual analysis and regime switching, the sessions brought researchers from different projects together to discuss shared questions, methodological challenges and potential links. The following morning, each group developed a new idea and presented it to the wider group.

The presentations showed how quickly open discussions could turn into concrete research ideas, possible methodological approaches and new cross-project connections. For many participants, this exchange was a particularly rewarding part of the workshop and demonstrated the value of bringing different perspectives together.

Many thanks to all PIs and young researchers for the hard work, curiosity and commitment they have brought to FOR 5583 over its first nine months. The workshop ended with new questions to pursue, new connections across projects and ideas to develop into research. Special thanks to the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) for supporting FOR 5583 and making this initiative possible.
